Journeyman Data Analyst (Remote)

Role Overview

The Journeyman Data Analyst supports U.S. Coast Guard programs by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to enable operational reporting, performance tracking, and informed decision-making. This role collaborates closely with government stakeholders and technical teams to transform complex datasets into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and analytical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze structured and semi-structured datasets to generate operational insights and program reports
• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Clean, validate, and transform data from multiple data sources
• Create recurring and ad-hoc reports for leadership and program teams
• Document data sources, methodologies, and assumptions for transparency and reproducibility
• Support data quality initiatives, governance, and standardization efforts
• Assist in automating and optimizing reporting workflows and processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in data analysis
• Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard and report development
• Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in a federal or enterprise environment
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting DHS or U.S. Coast Guard programs
• Familiarity with additional tools such as Tableau, Excel, Power Query
• Experience with data modeling and basic ETL processes
• Exposure to cloud-based data platforms

Work Arrangement

• Remote
