Role Overview

The Journeyman Data Analyst supports U.S. Coast Guard programs by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to support operational reporting, performance measurement, and decision-making. This role works closely with government stakeholders and technical teams to transform data into clear insights through dashboards, reports, and analytical products. This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze structured and semi-structured data to support program reporting and operational insights
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into analytics solutions
  • Clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources
  • Develop recurring and ad-hoc reports to support leadership and program needs
  • Document data sources, assumptions, and analytical methodologies
  • Support data quality, governance, and standardization efforts
  • Assist with automation and optimization of reporting processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience performing data analysis in a professional environment
  • Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Experience working with relational databases and data queries (e.g., SQL)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in a federal or enterprise environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DHS Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting DHS or U.S. Coast Guard programs
  • Experience with additional analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Power Query)
  • Experience with data modeling and basic ETL processes
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms
